Solar PV : How they work

myPlanetTM solar PV panels can either be roof mounted, or sited in a nearby position facing the sun. They are created using either silicon thin film or crystalline technology and contain a large number of photovoltaic cells.

A number of PV Panels can be connected together to collect even more solar energy, which is then converted into alternating current (AC) mains electricity. This can be used within your building to augment the mains electricity supplied from the grid.

Wherever you choose to site PV panels, you will need an MCS qualified electrician to connect the panel to its control / converter unit, and to connect the control unit output into your domestic circuits.
